How to Record a FaceTime Call on iPhone, iPad or Mac

If you use FaceTime for business or personal reasons, you may want to record your conversations for future reference.

This guide is for anyone who wants to learn how to record a FaceTime call on their iPhone, iPad or Mac.

How to

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of iOS or macOS installed on your device.
  2. Open the FaceTime app on your device.
  3. Start a FaceTime call with the person you want to record.
  4. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen on your iPhone or iPad to access the Control Center. On a Mac, click on the Control Center icon in the menu bar.
  5. Tap or click on the Screen Recording icon.
  6. If you have an iPhone or iPad, you will see a message asking you to start recording the screen. Tap on Start Recording and wait for the countdown to finish. If you have a Mac, click on the Record button and select the area of the screen you want to record.
  7. After you have finished the call, stop the recording by tapping on the red status bar at the top of your screen (iPhone or iPad) or clicking on the Stop button in the menu bar (Mac).
  8. The recording will be saved to your Camera Roll (iPhone or iPad) or your desktop (Mac).
